Ghanaian Community in Ottawa Honours Kofi Annan

His Excellency Kofi Annan, the Secretary-General of the United Nations visited Canada on March 8 and 9, 2004, to address the Joint Session of the Canadian Parliament, the Ghanaian Community in Ottawa took the opportunity to honour him. They presented him with a unique gift: a "Community Plaque of Honour", in respect of his excellent accomplishments and continuous efforts to bring peace, security, democracy, freedom, and prosperity to many in the World, and also in recognition and appreciation for being a proud son of Ghana and an exemplary Ambassador to the World The Plaque, the first of its kind to be presented to the Secretary-General at the community level. His Excellency Samuel A. Odoi-Sykes, the Ghana High Commissioner to Canada, made the presentation on behalf of the Community, on Tuesday, March 9, 2004.
