Release Report on "Nsawam Plot" - NDC

Accra, Sept. 11, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Thursday asked the Minister of Information, Nana Akomea to immediately release the report of Police investigations into the "so-called Nsawam Plot" and said it would no longer countenance any further delay. The Party said it had been accused of being involved in attempts to coach the jailed serial murderer, Charles Ebo Quansah to implicate some Ministers of the government in the killing of women.

The Party in a statement in Accra on Thursday signed by Bede Ziedeng, its Deputy General Secretary, said the report should be made public since it was more than three weeks since the claim was made. "The NDC expresses grave reservations about the silence the government has maintained over the issue, for it is over three weeks and no report has come out yet."

The Party said it found it ironical that it was taking the government so long to study what the Minister described as a 12-page report considering the alacrity with which investigations into the alleged plot were conducted.

The statement warned that the issue will not be left "to die a natural death" and said that it was in the best interest of the Minister to release the report as the NDC had no intention of giving him respite until he admitted that it was false.
