President John Dramani Mahama has assured the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, that he will officially attend the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, scheduled for September 15-18, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
The presidency made this public after the Asantehene sent a delegation, led by Amoamanhene Nana Agyenim Boateng I, from the Manhyia Palace to pay a courtesy call on the president to formally invite him to the royal funeral.
A release from the presidency on Monday, September 8, 2025, indicated that the president assured the delegation of his firm intention to attend the funeral to pay his final respects to the late Asantehemaa.
President Mahama, who extended his heartfelt condolences to the Asantehene and the people of Asanteman on the passing of the Asantehemaa, described her demise as an immense loss.

Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 98. During the traditional one-week observance, Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman led a delegation to mourn with the Asantehene and the people of Asanteman.
According to the statement issued by the presidency, the royal funeral for the late Asantehemaa is scheduled to take place from September 15–18, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
