President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Doha, Qatar, to participate in the 2025 edition of the Doha Forum.

His invitation came directly from the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, underscoring the strong diplomatic ties between Ghana and Qatar.

In a post shared on X by the Presidency on Saturday, December 6, 2025, the announcement noted that, “President Mahama is in Doha, Qatar, to participate in the Doha Forum 2025 at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar.”

While in Doha, President Mahama is scheduled to make two key interventions. He will deliver opening remarks on the theme “Education as Justice in Times of Crisis,” a subject that continues to shape global conversations around equality, access, and resilience in education.

He will later join a high-level panel discussion on “Economic Empowerment in Africa: Pathway to Inclusive Prosperity,” where he is expected to outline Africa’s strategic opportunities for sustainable growth and inclusive development.

Beyond his speaking engagements, the President will hold bilateral talks with the Emir of Qatar aimed at strengthening cooperation and exploring new areas of partnership between the two nations.

"Mr Mahama who arrived in Doha on Saturday morning, will make two critical interventions during the forum: an opening remark on “Education as Justice in Times of Crisis” and join a panel to discuss Economic Empowerment in Africa: Pathway to Inclusive Prosperity.

"President Mahama will also hold talks with H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar", it stated.

He travelled to Doha aboard a Qatar Airways Executive Jet provided by the State of Qatar and is expected to return to Ghana on Sunday, December 7, 2025.

The forum is an influential global platform that brings together leaders, policymakers, and experts to deliberate on pressing international issues.
