Salou joins Brugge

Club Brugge have fought off competition from Anderlecht to sign Ibrahim Salou from Zulte-Waregem.

The Ghanaian-born striker said he had trusted his instincts after signing a four-year contract at the club.

"Money was not the decisive factor," he told Het Laatste Nieuws.

"The most important to me was that I had a good feeling after my first contact with people at Club (Brugge).

"The club must fit me. The fans, the stadium, the surroundings: it all felt good.

"I am certain that we could function well as a team. It is my instinct, Club Brugge is the right choice for me."

After being approached by Ghanaian officials recently, he now has to choose which country he wishes to represent at international level.

Salou, who recently achieved Belgian citizenship, said: "Now I only have to make the choice between playing for Belgium or Ghana.

"With the last (Ghana) I can go to the World Cup in Germany. It's a difficult decision, believe me."
