Navy takes delivery of ship

Ghana Naval Ship (GNS) Bonsu arrived at the Sekondi Naval Base from the United States on Thursday.

Speaking at a welcoming ceremony for the ship, Rear Admiral John Gbenah, Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), said it was the third ship received by the Ghana Navy from the United States Government this year.

He said the ship brought the number of Ghana Navy ships to seven and urged those entrusted with the maintenance of the ships to ensure that they were always in good condition and ready for duty.

Rear Admiral Gbenah reminded personnel of the Navy of their obligations to protect the sovereignty of the country and resources at sea.

He said the arrival of the ships had placed the Navy in a better position to protect the security of the nation
