The fatal incident occurred at De-Mod, North Kaneshie.

Confirming the story to Joy News, Greater Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Freeman Tetteh, said the suspect took Juttah's rifle and bolted. He was hotly pursued by the other policemen who fired at the suspect wounding him in the chase.

Determined, the suspect still persisted in running off until, the gunshot wound began having a toll on him. He was eventually overpowered by his pursuers.

The unconscious Juttah Dormevenu was initially rushed to the Cocoa Clinic at Kaneshie, but after his condition worsened, he was moved to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital before being pronounced dead on arrival.

His wife, Blessed, said she last saw her husband speed off on his motor bike to work before 9pm after taking his supper - it would be his last.

After the husband delayed in coming home in the early morning, she called him on his phone several times. There was no answer.

Blessed notified her sister-in-law who advised that they go to the Police Station to look for Juttah.

But first, Blessed says she took her children to school and returned to find senior police officers at her home who relayed the tragic incident.
