Police chase NDC organizer

The Abuakwa police in the Ashanti Region are on the heels of the Atwima Nwabiagya South constituency organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Wisdom Boamah.

Boamah had been accused of assaulting a policeman nicknamed, ‘Action’ who was said to have confronted him (Boamah) over the blocking of the main Abuakwa-Kumasi road and causing severe vehicular traffic in the area.

The NDC organizer had vanished into thin air after allegedly committing the offence and the police are hunting for him, Supt Joseph Nyaba, the Abuakwa Police Commander, told .

The police capo stated that the police would continue to comb the entire area until Boamah was apprehended to face the law.

According to him, Saturday morning, around 11am, Boamah purportedly blocked the Abuakwa- Kumasi main road with his car right opposite the Abuakwa Police Station, creating a scene.

Supt Nyaba noted that a chain saw operator’s funeral was being held in the area, when Boamah, from nowhere, decided to block the road for the scores of mourners to pass.

He said Boamah, in a real show of ‘power,’ parked his car right in the middle of the road and left the scene, thereby creating massive vehicular traffic.

Supt Nyaba indicated that Action approached Boamah and asked him why he had decided to block the road, causing traffic.

Boamah, he said, became infuriated about the policeman’s confrontation so he (Boamah) assaulted the policeman in public and fled the scene immediately.
