Zeise seeks Ghana return

Ghana coaching candidate Burkhard Zeise has told BBC Sport Online of his plans to revolutionise the Black Stars - should he get the job.

Ghana are currently considering the applications of four coaches for the post, one of which is Zeise, who was previously in charge in the early 1990s.

And the German told the BBC why he felt it was now time for him to return.

"I wrote a letter to the GFA and they asked what have you been doing these last two years," Zeise said.

"I run two big companies in Germany, I have an international soccer school, I'm running courses here for the German FA.

"Other coaches have to go and participate in refresher courses. I am the one that runs them."

Ghanaian Emmanuel Afranie is currently in temporary charge - and has himself applied for the job on a permanent basis - but Zeise attacked the selection policy of his rival.

"This is not a Black Star team. This is a different team," he said of Afranie's approach, which has been to base the team primarily around the successful Under-20 side.

And Zeise made no apologies for his reputation which has seen him become famous - as former boss of both the Black Stars and Zambia - as one of the most controversial names in African football.

"Controversial? I agree - I have more ideas and better ideas than the others because I am independent," he stated.

"Some - who do not know what really happened - called my time with Zambia disastrous. Yes - but only for Zambia."
