Persons with disabilities chase Nana Addo to honour campaign promises

Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) say they have reposed much confidence in President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to deliver on his campaign promises made to them.

They have therefore reiterated a call for two of their members Mr. Ntim Twumasi Kwaku and Mr. Martin Obeng, to be considered for MMDCEs when the president begins nominating appointees for the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs).

“We wish to reiterate that out of the 216 MMDCE slots; only two of our members have the chance to be part and for that matter, should not be denied. These two gentlemen, Mr. Ntim Twumasi Kwaku- Ejisu-Juaben Municipal and Mr. Martin Obeng- Sunyani West, are very hardworking in our association and the NPP.

We have a firm belief that the duo are very capable of demonstrating with finesse, the administrative competence required to chalk success in their respective offices when given the nod to serve”

“It is however needless to add that we must as nation, make concerted efforts to include persons with disability in our governance system to realize the all-inclusiveness.

There are an estimated population of 5million PWDs in Ghana with an overall population of 28million representing 18percent of the country’s population.

It should be only fair if the only two members of our association are given the chance to serve in government.”, they said in a release signed by Rev. John Mefful National President and Clifford Owusu Ansah, National PRO of persons with disabilities
