The 40 Days Commemoration of the passing of Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka on October 20, 2025, was marked with solemnity and awe.
Among the many events that unfolded, a rare appearance of a rainbow encircling the sun captivated attendees who were present at the scene.
According to the members of his church (Kristo Asafo Mission) who had gathered, it signified a powerful message that though the Apostle may have departed physically, his spirit remained among them.
GhanaWeb spoke to a man called Pastor Cosmos Asare, who was visibly moved by this rare manifestation in the sky.
When asked about the source of his joy, he shared a deeply personal story, one that connected his family’s challenging experience to the Apostle’s legacy.
He recounted how, years earlier, his daughter had been among the young girls who went missing in Takoradi between August and December 2018.
According to him, the kidnappers had called him, threatening that if he didn’t send money, they would kill his daughter.
In his account, the turn of events could be termed as nothing short of a miraculous intervention; as he credited Apostle Safo Kantanka for his daughter’s safe return.
“Several years ago, my daughter was among the young girls who went missing in Takoradi. The individuals who had taken her hostage contacted us and issued a threat that by Saturday night, they would end her life,” he said.
“That Saturday morning, I reached out to Apostle Kantanka and told him about the situation. He calmly assured me not to worry, promising that by 6:00 PM that same day, my daughter would be returned safely. Remarkably, he had never met her before—he didn’t even know what she looked like, let alone whether she was fair-skinned,” he said.
The man further claimed that prior to his daughter’s return, he had learned she was being held in an uncompleted storey building.
Per Pastor Asare’s account, while his daughter was still held captive, the abductors reportedly heard a knock at the door. Upon opening it, they were met by a very tall man with long hair who firmly instructed them to release the girl, declaring that she was his child.
According to the him, the captors demanded a sum of over GH₵30,000 before agreeing to let her go.
“According to reports, my daughter had been tied up in an uncompleted storey building when the captors heard a knock at the door. Upon opening it, they saw a tall, fair man with long hair who said, ‘This is my child. Allow her to come with me.’ He asked how much they wanted for her release, and they demanded GH₵35,000. Without hesitation, he counted the money and handed it over,” he said.
“He had parked a white pickup truck beneath the building. My daughter was placed in the vehicle, and as they approached our home, the man told her to get inside our house. She said that after she got out of the car, she turned around to look for it, but it had vanished.
“This experience reminds us that God is everywhere. He sees all things, and His presence is never far from those who call on Him,” he recounted.
