Women Told To Emulate Lifestyle Of Mother Teresa

Akatsi (Volta Region) 23, Sept. The Akatsi District organiser of the 31st December Women's Movement (DWM), Mrs. Eugenia Abla Kumassah has called on women to emulate the late Mother Theresa of India who sacrificed her life to make others comfortable. "Women should show love and never discriminate when providing social services to people in their communities", she said. Mrs. Kumassah made the call at Akatsi last Saturday when she inaugurated eight more zonal branches of the movement in the Akatsi district at a ceremony. The inauguration brings to 105, the total number of the branches in the district. The new groups are Shalom, Tornyeli, Nutifafa and Akpe Na Mawu, Mifane, Nyorgbortey-Anyiheme, Alorsekope and Wumeve-Torgbokope. The district organiser urged the groups to fulfill the aspirations of their communities by encouraging the people to undertake cottage industries to improve their incomes. This, she said, they could do through formation of co-operative groups to win assistance from the government and financial institutions. Mrs. Kumassah advised women to lead decent and honest lives so as to win the respect and confidence of people they come in contact with.
