Cape Coast rehabilitated Victoria Park Handed over to RCC

Cape Coast, March 3, GNA- The renovated Victoria Park in Cape Coast was on Friday handed over to the Regional Coordinating Council for the Ghana, Golden Jubilee parade on Tuesday March 6.

The renovation, estimated at 4 billion cedis, started in January this year and was completed within six weeks.

It is providing facilities such as a Presidential dais, press and public gallery, refreshment centre, toilets and urinary. Nana Ato Arthur, Central Regional Minister, who received the facility on behalf of the regional golden jubilee planning committee at a ceremony in Cape Coast thanked the Contractors the Sammy Ray Construction Company limited for the good work they did within six weeks.

He called on the people of the region to be grateful to God and endeavour to contribute their quota to the celebration of the jubilee to make it a success, adding, 93we have only one Ghana, let us all make good use of it".

He said the jubilee was not meant for any political party and that it was a national issue and every body should be happy to join in the celebration, this, he stressed would enable them to write history for future generations.

Mr Samuel Ackon Mensah, the contractor, for his part also thanked the committee members and the rcc for their cooperation and support which has enabled him to complete the project on schedule.
