Government Informed Of Death Of Mpohor Chief

Accra, (Greater Accra) 29 Oct. An eight-member delegation from the Mpohor traditional council in the Western region today officially informed the government about the death and final funeral rites of the Omanhene of Mpohor, Nana Kofi Adianka the fourth. Led by the Mpohor Wassa East district chief executive, Mr Anthony E. Aggrey, the delegation told Nana Akuoko Sarpong, Presidential Staffer for Chieftaincy Affairs, that the funeral rites which started on October 28 will end on November one. The delegation presented traditional customary drinks of four bottles of schnapps to the government. Nana Adianka who died eleven years ago at the age of 54 reigned from 1956 to 1986. He was an educationist and contributed to the provision of a school, health centre, good drinking water and a post office for the area. Mr Aggrey said the chief loved his people and the district assembly is taking steps to ensure that education is given priority attention in the area.
