Popular Ghanaian rapper, M.anifest, has shared his view on Kwesi Nyantakyi’s FIFA lifetime ban describing it as not surprising.

According to M.anifest in an interview with Giovanni Caleb on Starr FM, he had the opportunity to watch the Anas expose titled #Number 12 and noted that the level of corruption unearthed in the video gave no less a punishment than a lifetime ban.

“We all need redemption but everybody must be responsible for his actions,” he said.

“I am not surprised by the ban because the level of corruption exposed was overwhelming,” he added.

Embattled GFA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi was banned for life by football governing body FIFA for his involvement in some corruption cases which came out after Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ investigative piece dubbed “Number 12”.

FIFA on October 30 released a statement banning the former GFA president from engaging in any football-related activities and also fined him an amount of CHF500,000 for several breaches of ethics.

A statement from Fifa read: “The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee has banned Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), for life from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level.”

“The adjudicatory chamber found Mr Nyantakyi guilty of having violated art. 19 (Conflicts of interest), art. 21 (Bribery and corruption) and art. 22 (Commission) of the FIFA Code of Ethics, 2012 edition. As a consequence, Mr Nyantakyi is banned for life from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level. Additionally, a fine in the amount of CHF 500,000 has been imposed on Mr Nyantakyi.”

“The decision was notified to Mr Nyantakyi today, and the ban comes into force immediately.”
