No names yet - Nana Akufo-Addo

Accra, Aug. 14, GNA - With only a few hours to announcement of the running- mate for the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, the flag bearer, has denied media speculations that a choice had been made.

The party is scheduled to hold a rally at Takoradi on Saturday to outdoor the person and the name is to be submitted to the National Council this evening.

Nana Akufo-Addo made the comment to journalists at the Parliament after joining his party to vote in favour of the agreement of the sale of 70 per cent shares of GT to Vodafone at the $900 million. He said he was happy that the agreement had gone through the necessary democratic process on the deal.

Nana Akufo-Addo said Ghanaians would be the best judges of the deal but added that any future Government which changed the deal would be answerable to Ghanaians.

Several names, including Alhaji Dr Muhamadu Bawumia, Deputy Governor of Bank of Ghana, Alhaji Adam Zakaria, Principal of the Bagabaga Training College in Tamale and Dr Mohamed Ibn Chambas, President of the ECOWAS Commission are being mentioned as possible running mates.
