Barely 24-hours after news went viral about a planned divorce between Lawyer Tony Lithur and Nana Oye Lithur, both have commented in press releases about the matter.

Tony Lithur on Wednesday morning asked that the family be given privacy at this their difficult time as they part ways.

Mrs Lithur who is a former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection has also refuted the litany of allegations leveled against her by the husband who is a renowned lawyer and represented Mr John Mahama in the historic 2012 election petition hearing at the Supreme Court.

She also denied claims she has been engaging in extramarital affair saying “Everyone who knows me and everything I stand for knows that the unfortunate allegations against me cannot be true.”

“As a lawyer of 25 years standing, I have a firm believe in our legal system and God Almighty to vindicate the truth”, she added.

She, like her husband, called for people to respect their and their children’s privacy as she called for prayers for strength in this challenging time.

It would be recalled that MyNewsGH.com on Tuesday night broke the story about how Mr Lithur had filed a case in court to part with his wife of 20 years and former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection Nana Oye Lithur.

Information backed by documents in the possession of MyNewGh.com indicates that the Legal practitioner Tony Lithur filed for divorce against his wife of many years and former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection under the John Mahama administration, Madam Nana Oye Lithur because of her frolicking with men of different shades.

He had cause to confront one of them to stay away from his wife even as she kept taking herself, including receiving calls at “ungodly hours” lying beside her husband on her matrimonial bed.
