Human Rights Activists and a former Minister of Gender, Nana Oye Lithur, has denied various allegations levelled against her by her husband.

According to Nana Oye Lithur, the accusations by Tony Lithur in the viral divorce petition, including she having amorous relationships with her colleague lawyers are false.

“In the past 24 hours, I have been overwhelmed by calls from friends and family expressing concern about the divorce petition filed by my husband. I would like to assure everyone that by the grace of God, I am fine. Thank you for your prayers, support and show of love,” she said in a statement.

Nana Oye described as unfortunate the public discussion their divorce petition which was supposed to be a private family issue, has generated.

She said, “It is unfortunate that a private family matter should now become a subject of public discussion. Everyone who knows me and everything I stand for will know that the unfortunate allegations against me cannot be true.”

The former Gender Minister admitted the divorce process is a difficult time in the life of her family and called for prayers, particularly for her children.

“I would like to count on your prayers, especially for our children. As a lawyer of 25 years standing, I have a firm belief in the legal system and in God Almighty to vindicate the truth,” Nana Oye stated.
