The Member of Parliament for the Savelugu constituency in the Northern Region, Hon. Abdul Samed Gunu says the newly installed Yaa-Naa is a God-fearing and a kind hearted person.

According to him, Naa Abukari Mahama II then as the paramount chief of Savelugu acted as a father for all in the Yo Traditional Area.

He recalled the neutral role Naa Abukari Mahama II played during the 2016 polls and touted him as a development oriented traditional leader.

The Savelugu Legislator in an exclusive interview with Abdul Karim Naatogmah posited that the yet to be outdoored Yaa-Naa is capable of developing the Dagbang Traditional Area to attract investors.

Hon. Samed Gunu implored all Dagombas to give the new Yaa-Naa their maximum cooperation and support.

Hon. Samed Gunu dismantled the National Democratic Congress (NDC) political monopoly over the Savelugu constituency by winning the seat on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the 2016 polls.

The embattled NDC former Member of Parliament, Hajia Mary Boforo served as the longest Legislator for the Savelugu constituency since 1992.

A decade later when Savelugu became vacant, his grandson, then-Kampakuya Naa Abdulai Yakubu Andani, who was the then-Acting Overlord of Dagbang enskinned him as the Yo Naa.
