The newly enskinned overlord of the Dagbon Kingdom in the Northern Region, Ya-Na Abukari Mahama II, has said he will soon roll out plans for the development of the area, which has lagged behind largely due to a protracted chieftaincy dispute.

Speaking exclusively to TV3’s Komla Klutse a day after his investiture ceremony at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi, the Ya-Na urged the media to be patient in their quest to report his plans for his kingdom.

He, however, assured the people of Dagbon that he will work in the interest of the Kingdom without discriminating against anyone, be it an Abudu or an Andani.

He used the opportunity to also appeal to the people, especially those from the Royal families, to be patient and wait for their time to ascend the throne.

Meanwhile, the new Ya-Na has dismissed some media reports that the government gifted him a car at his investiture ceremony.

He explained the car was gifted to him by a friend whose name he does not find appropriate to put out in the public.

He reiterated his commitment to be fair and firm in his reign without allowing politics to infiltrate the Kingdom.
