Members of the governing NDC prefer and are rooting for Kennedy Ohene Agyapong to be elected Flagbearer of the opposition NPP instead of former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Global Info Analytics has reported.
In its latest social media poll, Global InfoAnalytics said its findings showed majority of NDC members didn't want Dr Bawumia selected by the NPP as its Flagbearer.
Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Musa Dankwa, in a Facebook post sharing the findings said: "the social media poll shows majority of NDC voters and floating voters now prefer Kennedy Agyapong than Dr Bawumia contrary to previous polling data."
According to the findings, nearly 40% of NDC members who responded preferred Kennedy Agyapong to be the NPP's 2028 flagbearer, while the former Vice President got 33% with Kwabena Agyapong getting 14%.
Interestingly, those who identified themselves as floating voters also thought in the same line as members of the NDC, thus rooting for Kennedy Agyapong. 38% of them preferred Kennedy and 32% preferred Dr Bawumia.
The survey of NDC members' views on the NPP primaries is so far the only poll by the Global Info Analytics that Kennedy Agyapong has been ahead of Dr Bawumia.
This has raised eyebrows, especially among NPP supporters, who have been questioning how majority members of the NDC would prefer the NPP to elect a particular candidate as Flagbearer.
