Member of Parliament (MP) for Bantama, Henry Kwabena Kokofu has asserted that President Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) only projected flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo at their campaign launch in the Central Region.

Speaking on Accra based Okay FM Monday, Mr. Kokofu said instead of the NDC telling Ghanaians how they intend tackling the galloping inflation, unreliable power supply and the total collapse of the economy, the party it's leaders chose to glorify Nana Akufo-Addo at the event.

He said President Mahama inadvertently marketed Akufo Addo at the event and that it is an indication that the NDC is scared of the NPP’s flagbearer.

The legislator added that the platform was a good opportunity to address the myriad of issues confronting Ghanaians yet the President chose to call the NPP names. He indicated Ghanaians expected the President to state his position on the Montie trio.

Reacting to the president’s assertion that the NPP is a violent and intolerant party, Mr. Kokofu said the NDC has victimised its members than any other political party in Ghana’s history. He mentioned Madam Frances Essiam who was gravely assaulted on the orders on some high ranking- members of the NDC.

Mr. Kokofu recounted how wife of the founder of the party, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings was ill-treated by some executives of the party, a development which was the birth of the National Democratic Party (NDP).
