Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Lawra Constituency, Hon Anthony Abayifaa Karbo, described the NDC delegation’s decision to leave the party’s national executives conference over delays as “most unfortunate”, insisting the party should have waited to deliver its solidarity message.

The former chairperson of the NPP National Delegates Conference Organising Committee said the two parties had attended each other’s conferences over the years and should show patience despite scheduling delays.

Speaking to Umaru Sanda Amadu on Citi FM, monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Karbo said the NPP had also waited at NDC events when proceedings did not begin at the stated time.

“We have attended their conferences, and look, they don’t always start at the time they give us. But we have the patience to wait and give our solidarity message,” he said.

He criticised the NDC deputy organiser for leaving and holding a press conference over the delay, describing the move as unfair to a party with which the NDC had maintained relations for years.

“I thought it was most unfortunate for the NDC deputy organiser to walk away and grant that very disrespectful press conference,” Karbo said.

He added that the walkout sent the wrong signal about the relationship between the two parties.

“We have worked with them for many years. And that is a very wrong sign that they gave,” he said.

Karbo also noted that the NPP had served the visiting delegation Ghanaian jollof while they waited.
