NDC Race: Kwesi Botchwey to join in 2 weeks – Ben Ephson

Editor-In-Chief of the Daily Dispatch newspaper, Ben Ephson Jnr, has predicted that, Professor Kwesi Botchwey is likely to submit his letter of intention within a week or two to contest the flabearership slot of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

After denying media reports that he [Kwesi Botchwey] has picked forms to contest the chairmanship race of the NDC through a press statement, he hinted that he “shall publicly declare his intention and the capacity in which he will decide to lead the party for victory 2020” the statement said.

However, speaking to Kasapa fm, the pollster said, portions of his [Kwesi Botchwey] statement sought to indicate his position of contesting for the flagbearership race of the NDC although it was not stated specifically and precisely.

“From his statement you will see clearly that he has the intention of contesting for the flagbearership. In the next few days, am sure he will tell us, he will definitely contest for the flagbearership, because apart from the chairmanship slot, the only highest position left is the flagbearership position, so if he says he is not going for the chairmanship position then definitely, he must be eyeing the flagbearership position” Ephson told sit-in host Serwaa Akoto.

In the statement, Professor Botchwey’s office said such reports stemmed from “some faceless people” looking to stain Professor Botchwey’s reputation.

His office has said it will investigate the matter “and report this conduct to the National Executive Committee to bring to book the persons behind this desperate conduct.”
