NABCO to give disabled people special treatment - Coordinator

According to the Coordinator priority will be given to persons with disability According to the Coordinator priority will be given to persons with disability

People living with disability who apply for employment under the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) will be given special treatment, coordinator for NABCO, Dr. Ibrahim Anyars has disclosed.

According to him, all panel members assigned to partake in the activity have been sensitized and the sort of scoring sheets they have will permit them to indicate whether someone has a disability or not adding that it will provide the appropriate data to make the necessary arrangements for such people.

“In scoring people on the panel, it affects only gender and disability. Those living with disability get 2% scoring points ahead of every other person,” Dr. Anyars said in an interview with Francis Abban on Morning Starr on Starr FM.

He, however, added that there isn’t a fixed number of jobs reserved for people with disabilities because it will be difficult to determine the number of people with disabilities that will go for the interview.

“We wouldn’t know the number of people with disabilities until we get the data from the interviews. So on the scoring sheet there is a column to indicate if one has a disability or not. At the end of the process by the 27th of July, we would know then we can provide for placement.”

Dr. Ibrahim added that there is a gender provision considering that 55,000 females have applied.

“An individual who is disabled and a female get a 3% scoring point ahead of any other person as well,” he said.

NABCO is set to employ 100,000 people this year under seven modules including Educate Ghana, Revenue Ghana, Civic Ghana, Digitize Ghana and Enterprise Ghana.
