Hearts Call On GFA to Bring Kotoko to Order

Champion Club Accra Hearts of Oak have called on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to bring their archrivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko to order.

A statement issued and signed by Mr. Tommy Okine, Chief executive of Hearts in Accra on Tuesday, requested the GFA to refer to their letter of March 24, which also contained a photo copy of a duly signed contract between the club and Charles Taylor in compliance with article 28(3) of the FA's regulations.

The statement said though the team hasd registered the player with Confederation of African Football (CAF) for this years Champions League, it had come to the notice of the club that officials of Kotoko are using subtle and arm-twisting tactics to induce Taylor to breach a written contract with Hearts.

The statement explained that the player confessed to Hearts officials on Sunday when he was present during a match between Hearts and Power FC in Accra that he (Taylor) had been kidnapped by officials of Kotoko and taken to Kumasi a couple of weeks ago. He expressed his desire to join his colleagues at training but the club was reliably informed that Taylor had again been "kidnapped" to Kumasi.

Hearts have however requested that the GFA bring Kotoko to order before it decides to use all legal means to seek redress. The statement said the consequences of taking the matter to FIFA would be unpleasant for Kotoko and Ghana soccer, as whole and therefore asked the GFA to react to their request by the close of work on Tuesday April 1.
