My mother is alive – Rawlings

The office of former President Jerry John Rawlings has dismissed reports that the mother of the former Leader has died.

There have been reports on social media claiming that Madam Victoria Agbotui has passed on.

But a short statement issued by the Ex President’s Office said “Madam Agbotui is alive, hale and hearty.

“Members of the public should please disregard the report.”

The Ex-President’s mother who hails from Dzelukope near Keta in the Volta Region turns 100years in a few months.

Rawlings has in interviews described his mother as a strict disciplinarian whose no-nonsense approach shaped his life.
