Accra, Sept. 18, GNA - An Estate Developer, who allegedly defrauded 48 persons of 378 million cedis under the pretext of providing them with accommodation appeared before a Circuit Court in Accra on Thursday. Felix Enstsie, 37, pleaded not guilty to defrauding by false pretences. The Judge, Mr Willywise Kyeremeh remanded Enstsie into prison custody to reappear on September 25.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Elizabeth Alormatu told the court that the complainants resided at various parts of Accra. On May 7 Enstsie made a verbal agreement with one of his elder sisters to have her two-storey building situated at Laterbiokorhie, near Radio Gold FM Station in Accra renovated and rented to tenants for a year.

The Prosecution said accused took advantage of the 48 complainants including the World Harvest Church and collected various monies totalling 378 million cedis from them with the promise of offering them accommodation immediately the renovation work was completed.

Complainants, however, detected that work on the building had halted and the accused could not be traced.
