Four Killed In Accident

Kumasi (Ashanti Region), 15 Jan.,

Four people were killed on the spot and one died at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) when a truck hit a saloon car were in collision at Ampabame, near Ejisu, at the weekend. The dead, who have been deposited at the KATH, were identified as Mr. R.W. Essien, 62, Manager of Atlas Ghana Limited, Mr. Yaw Duku, 32, Driver of the Saloon Car, Madam Martha Osei, 40 and her brother, Mr. Osei Kofi, 35, both from Onwi-Ejisu. According to police chief inspector J.A. Oteng, the truck loaded with flour was travelling to Tamale from Accra when it burst a tyre. The driver, Francis Yakubu, from Ajumako-Asamang in the Central Region, lost control and crashed into the saloon car killing all four occupants. Yakubu died later at the KATH.
