Major Mahama’s mother gets standing ovation at son’s Masters graduation

It was a solemn moment for Masters Degree graduating students of University of Leicester in England last weekend when Veronica Bamford, mother of the late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama turned up to receive his certificate on his behalf.

The slain soldier who undertook a course in Masters of Science in security and Risk Management was supposed to have graduated this month but was killed by angry residents of Denkyira-Boase in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region who mistook him for an armed robber.

Madam Veronica Bamford, received a standing ovation from convocation when the name of her son was mentioned for his certificate.

During his short but illustrious military career, he rose through the ranks to become a Captain serving in various capacities both home and abroad such as: Platoon Commander United .Certificate on interim Force in Lebanon from November 2008 to 2009, Adjutant United Nations Operation in Cote D’ voire from August 2011 to March 2012, Military information of certificate United Nations Mission in Liberia from July 2013 to January 2014 and Company Commander 5 infantry Battalion from January 2014 till his death.
