Mahama was wrong choice - Bawumia

DR. MAHAMUDU Bawumia, running mate to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, has stated that the electorate erred by voting for President Mahama during the 2012 polls.

He said since the 2012 elections, he had observed that the country had seen nothing but total hardship – which had not been experienced in the country before – due to the poor policies and programmes of the Mahama-led ‘wahala’ administration.

Dr. Bawumia, an astute economist, noted that the severe hardship aside, corruption had become the order of the day as the country’s scanty resources were being milked by uncaring government officials.

He said there would be doom for the country if Ghana was left in the hands of incompetent NDC administration in 2016. He passionately charged the electorate to vote for the NPP in large numbers so that it could restore hope to the people.

According to Dr. Bawumia, he and Nana Akufo-Addo are the best people to properly manage the affairs of the almost dying Ghana, reiterating his call to the electorate to settle for the NPP in 2016.

Dr. Bawumia was speaking during the official unveiling ceremony of Coalition to Elect Nana and Bawumia (CENAB), an NPP support group based in the United States of America, at the Georgia Hotel in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital, last Friday.

The event was graced by NPP gurus in the region and other parts of the country as well as the Diaspora. It was also used to raise funds to help oil the party machinery ahead of the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Dr. Bawumia openly sobbed about the dying Ghanaian economy and how the people were struggling to live, saying that the country needs the NPP administration in 2016 more than any other time, to help lessen their plight and restore hope to them.

He said businesses were collapsing in the country because the prevailing condition was not good for them to grow, adding that the rate at which prices of items were being increased was not proper and so it should be a concern for all.

“When you want to get a decent accommodation in Ghana now, it is ‘wahala’, and when you want to get access to good health care, there is wahala,” the NPP guru lamented.

He added, “Even if you want to buy cement or take your wards to school, it is the usual ‘wahala’ you will pass through,” pointing out that everything showed that the country was being poorly managed by President Mahama and the NDC government.

He concluded by urging the entire NPP members as well any Ghanaian that want the best for the country, to join the NPP campaign to help kick the NDC government out.

Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, aka Wontumi and another party guru, Dr. Kwame Amoako Tuffuor, in their respective addresses, charged Ghanaians to rally behind the NPP to unseat the NDC government since it had failed the country.

Dr. Afia Sarkodie, USA branch Women’s Organiser of CENAB, also assured of her group’s readiness to offer unflinching support for Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia to win the next national elections.

The colourful event was chaired by Nana Owusu Brempong, chief of Agona Akrofuom.
