President John Dramani Mahama has called for support from the Regent of Dagbon, Kampakuyanaa Abdulai Yakubu Andani II, as he paid a courtesy call on him and subsequently addressed party supporters at Yendi in the Northern Region to tout his achievements.

“It is the turn of your son again and we are asking for four years more and I know that with your blessings and prayers, we will get the four years in addition,” he noted.

President Mahama indicated that his government had invested in roads, citing the Lawra/Nandom-Hamile roads, the Eastern Corridor roads as well as the construction of roads in six cocoa-growing areas through the Cocoa Roads Improvement Programme, as examples.

These infrastructural projects and many others being undertaken by the government, in Mr Mahama’s view, warrant the NDC another four-year term in office.

President Mahama stressed that past governments in the fourth republic each had two four-year terms in office and, therefore, asked the people of Yendi to continue supporting the NDC to push its “transformational agenda”.

President Mahama had earlier paid a courtesy call on the Yelizolilana of Zabzugu, and subsequently addressed party supporters at Tatale, where the chief presented two white doves to him as a sign of endorsement.
