Lest Bawumia Forget

On Tuesday, 1st December, 2015, the NPP led by Dr. Bawumia had a press conference to respond to the 2016 budget statement. After accusing the NDC of being competent of all negativities, he enumerated the achievements of the NPP when they ruled this country from 2001 to 2009 some of which are as follows:

1) School feeding programme
2) Capitation grant to make education affordable and accessible
3) The national youth employment programme etc..

Dr. Bawumia forgot some of the achievements of the NPP and would like to provide them as follows:

1) The NPP under Ex- president Kufour increased electricity tariff 200% within 2 years when Dr. Wereko-Brobbey was the CEO OF VRA.
2) The NPP, led by Mr. Sarfo Marfo (then Finance minister), supervised by Ex-prez. Kufour was the only political party in the world which applied for a loan from a salon (The CNCT Loan) in the U.S. This is not only a national record, but also a world record and wondered why Dr. Bawumia failed to add it as part of the NPP’s achievements.
3) The NPP is the first political party in this country whose Health minister, as a leader of government delegation to attend a conference on HIV/AIDS, had raw sex with a white lady which later resulted in pregnancy.
4) The NPP is the first political party whose minister, as competent as he was, when asked when the Dumsor would end in 2007, mentioned September 31st (Yes he said 31st September).
5) The NPP, under Ex- Prez Kufour signed an oil contract and the whole country was given 10% whilst only two people (The EO group) were given 3%.
6) The NPP were the only political party in this country (if not the whole world) whose sitting MP was jailed 10 years in the U.S.for trafficking drug (Eric Amoateng)
7) Dr. Bawumia, you forgot to tell Ghanaians that under Ex- Prez. Kufour, the NPP sold a national asset (Ghana Telecom) before they were able to pay October salaries in 2008.
You were then the Deputy Governor of The Bank of Ghana.
8) Dr. Bawumia, your party under your competency, filed an election petition at the Supreme Court and 88.81% of the case on the face of the pink sheet has absolute nothing to with the election. (Duplicated serial number category). Lo and behold all the nine judges voted against that category of the case.
9) Some of the achievement that you forgot to tell Ghanaians is that the NPP is the first political party in this country whose general secretary, as a result of loose talk, was made to sign a bond of good bahavoiur by the Supreme Court for 6 months after paying a fine of GHC 5,000. (Sir John).
10) Dr. Bawumia forgot to tell Ghanaians that under the competency of the NPP, a Finance minister (Mr. Sarfo Marfo) sign a contract document and when invited to explain to Parliament to content of the document he signed on behave of the nation, his only answer was that he cannot explain since he doesn’t understand the German language.(What a competency)
11) Last but not the least; it is only the NPP, whose leader, (Ex-Prez. Kufour) who also doubled as a president of the republic then in 2008, used $ 1.4 million of tax payers’ money to purchased 515 pieces of 18- carats of gold medal to award those he deemed fit. Afterward, he awarded himself with a gold medal which cost this nation $ 65,000. Frank Agyekum, defending his boss said the remaining gold medals will be used for the three years when we then don’t have a year supply of chalk for our primary schools.

Dr. Bawumia, are you aware that in the last 7 years, you have enhanced your CV as the longest serving Vice Presidential candidate in the political history of this country?

Are you also aware Dr. that Mr. Alan Kyeremanten, your boss’ main competitor in the presidential primaries last year, when speaking to NPP loyalist and potential delegates in New York said” although Nana Addo had represented the party well in the last two elections, he did not appeal to floating voters”.
Listen to him again” I want to be very upfront… I think that we have our own senior brother, Nana Addo. He’s represented the party very well on two occasions. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, it’s not possible for us to get into power. I think that we must explore other opportunities and that is why I will be putting myself up as a candidate when nomination open and I am here to seek your support He continued by saying” The challenge we have is not convincing our core members in the party. Almost invariably, you can imagine if everything goes well you can expect that our core voters will vote for us. The difference is how to convince the swing voters”. He ended by saying” the NPP will lose the 2016 Presidential election if Nana Addo is elected as flagbearer”
Dr. ,since your Vice Presidency is attached to Nana Addo’s presidency, why have you failed to use your competency to help Nana Addo to win the last two general elections so that your dream of becoming a Vice President of the Republic will be materialized? (As did Mr. Amissah Arthur to his Excellency, the president)
However, like Mr. Alan Kyeremanten said (as quoted above) if Nana Addo’s likeability, presentability, personal demeanor and lack of leadership skills is not enough to attract swing voters to vote for him, and by extension becoming an impediment to your dream, why not pick a nomination form next time to contest for the presidential primaries in your party, who knows, maybe you will win. Please Dr. give me advance notification before your next press conference to enable me have enough time to research for those that you might forget to tell Ghanaians.
Eyes are watching!
