JoeTex set to lift new club

CAF Champions League leading scorer, Ghana's Joetex Frimpong, is set to lift Tunisian side, Club Sportif Sfaxien of Tunisia, in the CAF Champions League.

The Ghanaian international, who recently sealed a three-year deal with the Tunisian outfit made the trip to Algiers, where Sfaxien would play JS Kabylie.

Speaking to www.ghanaweb.com shortly before his team left for Algiers, this afternoon, he said:

"I am not new to the Champions League having won it in 2003 and 2005 with my former Nigerian team, Enyimba. It is my wish to also win it again this year.

"After the Nations Cup, in Egypt, I played in Saudi-Arabia where I assisted Al-Nassr to escape relegation. This time around, it is my wish to assist CS Sfaxien win everything possible."

Frimpong made his name in the CAF Champions League and was in the Enyimba FC of Aba winning squad in 2003 and 2004 scoring a record 14 goals from 2003 through 2005.

He helped Ghana qualify for the World Cup, but missed the World Cup party, in Germany. He was in the Nations Cup, in Egypt, and got a three-month contract in Saudi-Arabia with Al-Nassr Sports Club.
