Late Queen Elizabeth's son arrested by UK authorities

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, son of the late Queen Elizabeth II, has been arrested on Thursday morning on suspicion of misconduct in public office, UK authorities have confirmed.

The arrest relates to documents from his time as a trade envoy, which are alleged to have been passed to disgraced sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Thames Valley Police in the UK, who have been investigating the matter, confirmed that the arrest is specifically connected to allegations of misconduct in public office.

The investigation also includes claims that a second woman was sent to the UK by Epstein for a sexual encounter with Mountbatten-Windsor, though the arrest is reportedly limited to the misconduct in public office allegations.

Mountbatten-Windsor has previously denied any wrongdoing in connection with the Epstein case.

Thames Valley Police continue to investigate the matter.
