University Team Presents Trophy to V.C.

Students have been called upon to take active part in sports so that they could remain healthy at all times.

Professor Ivan Addae-Mensah, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Legon, made the call when the University's Soccer and Hockey teams presented a trophy and medals they won at the just-ended first West African University Games (WAUG) to him at his office at Legon, near Accra on Monday.

He praised the teams for the spirited performance they exhibited during the games and encouraged them to keep it up. He urged them also not to rest on their oars but continue to strive hard so that they could win more laurels for the school and the nation. As an appreciation, Prof. Addae-Mensah announced that members of the team would not be charged academic user fee for one year. The team would later present the trophy to President John Agyekum Kufuor.
