Hearts-Oly For AIDS Cup On Sunday

Accra Hearts of Oak's new coach, Ernst Middendorp, will begin a firm assessment of his team when he parades them against city rivals, Great Olympics, in a special HIV/AIDS Cup match in Accra on Sunday.

The match, arranged by the Ghana AIDS Commission in collaboration with the HIV/AIDS Concern, an NGO, will be used to source for funds to support persons living with the deadly disease in the country. Its friendly nature notwithstanding, the game will be of great importance to both teams, whose problems come in different forms.

Olympics have lived in a divided home since the close of the last season and can only hope that they find unity to face their greatest foes on Sunday.Hearts have gone through a sharp change particularly in their technical direction, disposing of Herbert Addo and recruiting expatriate Ernst Middendorp for the coaching job.

Scenarios in both camps, in different ways, do not suggest comfort and can only add to the tension and excitement that characterises matches between Olympics and Hearts.
