RTU Beat King Faisal

TAMALE (Northern Region) Real Tamale United (RTU) started the new league season on a bright note when they beat visiting King Faisal 3-1 in their opening match in Tamale. RTU, playing under their new coach John Eshun, took the lead in the 31st minute through centre forward Eben Abbey Shamo. A long throw-in by right full back Marcus Boafo found RTU's newly-recruited inside left Agyemang Prempeh whose header sent Abbey through to slot in the first goal. After recess, King Faisal took up the challenge and equalised through inside right Nana Frimpong who capitalised on a defensive blunder to beat Oscar Asamoah in the 55th minute. RTU brought in Maaway Mohammed for inside right Obeng Richard to strengthen their attack which yielded dividend in the 59th minute when Agyemang scored from a goal mouth action. When every thing looked settled for a 2-1 victory for RTU, Abbey beat on-rushing goalkeeper Serezu Mohammed in the 85th minute to seal the doom of King Faisal. GRi
