Ministry welcomes public input to budget formulation

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning intends to present the 2007 Budget Statement to parliament in November 2006. It is anticipated that parliament will debate the statement before the Christmas recess in December 2006.

The Ministry is inviting the general public – individuals, trade associations, professional and religious bodies, and others - to make submission of ideas and contributions that may be considered during the process of formulating the Budget Statement.

Written submissions may be made through any of the following:

· Presiding officers and district finance committees in the Districts

· Office of Regional Ministers in the Regions

· Office of Ghana's Missions abroad for those overseas
