LIVESTREAMED: Parliament resume sitting after Kpandai seat brouhaha

The Parliament of Ghana resumed sitting today, December 10, 2025, following a night of chaos over the declaration of the Kpandai parliamentary seat as vacant.

This marks the 29th Sitting of the 3rd Meeting of the House, with lawmakers currently discussing the events of the previous night alongside other government business.

The unrest began when members of the Minority Caucus engaged in noise-making to disrupt proceedings as a form of protest against the declaration of the Kpandai seat as vacant, a decision the Minority maintains is unlawful and procedurally flawed.

Despite the Speaker's attempts to proceed, Minority MPs intensified their protest, rising from their seats, marching to the middle of the chamber, and chanting in opposition.

The sudden movement triggered a chaotic confrontation, with MPs from both sides pushing and shoving each other at the centre of the floor.
