NPP Attempts To Bribe NDC Candidate

The NPP has set its bribery train in motion, and for the past three weeks the NDC candidate for the Offinso South bye-election, petite Ms. Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, has come under intense pressure from NPP apparatchiks to step down from the contest to allow for an easy win for the NPP.

The NPP’s nefarious activities have been led by the loud-mouthed returnee MP from one of the Kumasi constituencies who is alleged to have once bragged whilst voluntarily inebriated that he used to bring down from Togo corpses of women in the run up to the 2000 elections in order to create the women serial killing scare and pin t on the NDC.

According to our sources, the NPP first made a direct ethnic pitch. They told Ms. Serwaa Asamoah: “How can you, an Ashanti of royal lineage, be in the NDC? When the NDC was in power, it made sense for an Ashanti to be with them, because there was money to chop. Now that our (Ashanti) party is in power, why are you wasting your time?”

Our information is that this tribal argument only infuriated Ms. Serwaa Asamoah the more, but the NPP group did not give up. They came back three days later, on the day the NDC held its primaries to elect its candidate, and on the Congress grounds, pulled Ms. Serwaa Asamoah aside and made her an offer which they claim came directly from President Kufuor himself – if the NDC candidate would agree to step down, the Government would offer her a scholarship award to Harvard University, USA, to study Law.

Ms. Serwaa Asamoah is a petite, brilliant, young lady who scored a Second Class (Upper) Division degree in her Social Studies course at the KNUST, worked for a while as a Teaching. Assistant at the same University, and is currently pursuing a course of study in Law.

Ms. Serwaa Asamoah, we are told, politely told them off and reminded them to take care of others that they had made similar promises to in the past and whose lot had worsened since they defected to the NPP.

The last we heard, the NPP had asked Ms. Serwaa Asamoah to “name her price”. Ms. Serwaa Asamoah had reportedly told them to stuff their offer up their wherever, saying, “I will whip them come October 24th”.
