Kwesi Nyantakyi funded Akufo-Addo’s 2016 campaign - Yamoah Ponko alleges

Former Municipal Chief Executive of Ejusu in the Ashanti Region, Yaw Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh, has alleged that Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi ”is a major financier of President Akufo-Addo’s campaign in to the 2016 election”.

According to him, The FIFA executive council member, aided President Akufo-Addo’s victory in the 2016 general election hence using his name to solicit for bribes from potential investors as captured in the yet to be premiered Anas 12 investigative video .

Kwesi Nyantakyi, has been officially charged with defrauding by false pretence after it was revealed in an Anas Aremeyaw Anas’s investigation that he used the president’s name to solicit for bribes from supposed potential investors.

The vociferous politician however, argued that Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi would be freed irrespective of all the allegations leveled against him considering his smooth relationship with President Akufo-Addo and the huge money he pumped into his 2016 campaign.

Speaking on Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkrah, Yamoah Ponko said ”Kwesi Nyantakyi is a major financier of President Akufo-Addo’s campaign prior to the 2016 election”

”The link is already established, I have read a story of him saying he went through hell under the NDC government”.

He added that President Akufo-Addo only ordered for the GFA boss arrest just to paint a picture in the public that he’s incorruptible and that Nyatakyi when arrested would erase the notion that he has a direct link at the presidency.

”I am of the opinion that Nana Akufo-Addo is only trying to be smart as far as Nyantakyi’s defrauding by false pretence charge is concerned. He added
