Djankrom Citizens Appeal For Assistance To Repair Roads

Djankrom (E/R), --- Resident citizens of Djankrom West Electoral Area, near Nsawam in the Akwapim South District, have appealed to the government through the Department of Feeder Roads to assist them to rehabilitate their roads. Making the appeal at an emergency meeting of elders of area, Mr. Lamidi Mustapha, assembly member for the area, expressed concern about the poor condition of the roads, now that the rains have set in. He noted that, three days of continuous rainstorm that hit the area, has caused extensive damage to properties estimated at millions of cedis. Mr.Lamidi said the Mateta stream overflowed its bank and washed away four bridges. The assembly member said the residents have been doing all they could to reshape the roads and construct new bridges, but their efforts were not successful because of financial constraints. He appealed to the government and the district assembly to come to the assistance of the people of Djankrom.
