President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

Nii Mensah Djanyanmyo, Chief of Kwabenya in Accra, has asked the government of Ghana to, as a matter of urgency repair a damaged bridge in the area.

According to the traditional ruler, the damaged bridge has become a death trap within the area hence government must act swiftly on its repairs.

Nii Mensah Djanyomyo told Obeng Mensah, sit-in host of Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM Thursday June 28 that the chiefs have held several meetings with the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area regarding the reconstruction of the bridge but to no avail.

He further revealed that some lives have already been lost on the bridge.

To that end, the chiefs in the area are appealing to the President to intervene in order to reconstruct the bridge quickly to prevent further deaths.

“I appeal to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to come and assist us, we want this bridge reconstructed quickly so we don’t experience more deaths,” he said.
