Government commended for development agenda

Akim Manso, Oct 13, GNA- Work is progressing on a number of development projects being undertaken by the government at Akim Manso in the Birim South district.

The projects include the reconstruction of the 1.9 kilometre road linking the town with the main Akim Oda-Winneba road, a clinic, a sanitary facility and a market that has been completed. The chief of the town, Obrempong Sintim Poku 111 who conducted newsmen to inspect progress of work on the projects on Sunday, commended the MP for Akim Oda, Mr Yaw Osafo Marfo, on whose initiative the projects are being executed.

He said the government has now absorbed the Atwaaman Senior Secondary School in the town into the public system and it is a relief to the people in the area.

Hitherto, the people were using levies from funeral donations to pay salaries of teachers of the school.

The Assemblyman for the area, Mr Yaw Bogya Antwi-Boasiako, also lauded the government's efforts to develop rural communities and urged the people to offer their full support to the government. 13 Oct 03
