Retired Diplomat, K. B. Asante, has described as appalling the judicial scandal that has gripped the nation in the last few weeks.
The Ghanaian Statesman told Kasapa FM that he was sickened after watching the three-hour video footage which was premiered at the Accra International Conference Center on Tuesday.
“It was really nauseating to see highly placed persons being caught without any moral compassion…it was a terrible malpractice,” he told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa.
Dr. Asante added: “I was surprised by the blatant way of which the bribes were given and taken. It was too open and it shows that the canker is too widespread and deep in the society and that people will believe it was not a bad thing but rather a good thing.”
The statesman, however, blamed himself and his peers for not doing much during their time to completely eradicate corruption in the country.
“I was part of the system and so I should take part of the responsibility that perhaps we didn’t do our work well.
"I knew there was some corruption during our time but there were about 80 percent of us who were interested in building a brave and prosperous Ghana.”
