Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas is heading to the Supreme Court today to meet the embattled judges he has accused of taking bribes to influence their judgments.

Anas in a two-year undercover exercise exposed 34 judges who were allegedly negotiating with agents including court clerks and police prosecutors to free suspects in robbery and murder cases.

Anas and his Tiger Eye PI team will appear before the five-member body at the Supreme Court presiding over an impeachment petition he brought against the 34 judges in Ghana.

Lawyers of the judges will cross-examine the ace investigative journalist after watching the incriminatory video with their clients. Twenty-two of them, mainly lower court judges, are on suspension while 12 high court judges are awaiting their fate.

Anas has confirmed to Starrfmonline.com he will be at the sitting and is ready to cooperate. He first appeared before the committee last Tuesday but sitting never took place due to the absence of one of the members.

Meanwhile, some of the high court judges including Justice Paul Dery have sued the investigative journalist over the act and want an injunction placed on the Accra International Conference Centre over the premiere of the video.

Dery, who has also written to the management of Starr FM to cease publishing anything related to him in the judicial scandal, is seeking 17 reliefs from the Accra Fast Track High Court. Among his prominent request is “A declaration that the 1st Defendant (Tiger Eye PI) obtained the contents of the audio-visual recording unlawfully.”
