German NGO To Equip JSS

Vakpo (Volta Region), 9 Nov. Fifty Junior Secondary School workshops in the country are to be equipped with various tools by a German NGO, Misereor. This was announced at Vakpo in the Kpando District by Mr. Godwin Nyamalor, Volta Regional Manager of Catholic schools at the dedication of tools for Vakpo Roman Catholic Junior Secondary School yesterday. The items, made up of tools for carpentry, masonry, metal works dress-making and books, are valued at 15 million cedis. Mr. Nyamalor appealed to the beneficiary schools to seek expert advice in handling the tools to prolong their life-span. The Right-Reverend Francis Lodonu, Bishop of Ho who dedicated the tools, urged parents to put premium on their children's education to enhance the country's human resource development which he said is a pre-requisite for the nation to attain a middle-level income status. He asked teachers to put in their maximum efforts to ensure the success of the educational reform programme. He called on the community to guard against the pilfering of the tools.
