Top4: Silas Tetteh cries foul

Accra, Feb 8, GNA - Silas Tetteh, head coach of Liberty Professionals has expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of Tema based referee C.M. Atsatsa in their game against Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the Coca Cola Top Four played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

"The referee gave the match to Kotoko. Just look at the sort of infringements he took against us while he allowing our players to be heckled without whistling or cautioning the Kotoko players" coach Tetteh stated.

He added, "My side could have won the match or even forced a draw but for poor officiating we were denied the points".

The coach stated that smaller clubs are suffering from biased officiating and if such disgraceful behaviors are not checked, football will never develop in the country.

Coach Tetteh said referees are killing the game in Ghana adding that the performance of referee Atsatsa is a typical example and a shame to the profession.

"Referee Atatsa's performance was below expectation and if this will continue in the tournament, a befitting winner will not emerge" Coach Tetteh stated angrily when the GNA Sports team spoke to him after the match.

On the performance of his team, the coach said they could have won the match to boost their standing on the table as his boys did their best and played to instructions.

He however said all is not lost and that the technical team will psyche up the players for their next two games. Coach Tetteh expressed the hope that his team will bounce back into the competition and take a respectable position.
