A former press secretary to Professor Atta Mills' campaign for election 2004, Nii Lantey Vandepuye has hinted that former President Rawlings would be acting as a polling agent in the forthcoming Odododiodio by-election later this month (August 30, 2005). Former President Rawlings was very instrumental in prevailing on the then National Democratic Congress (NDC) renegade, Walid Laryea to stand down for the NDC candidate to have the relative leeway for the Odododiodio Constituency by-election.
There has been a sheer ecstasy and tension in the run up to the August 30 elections and more so to the withdrawal of Walid Laryea. Nii Lantey Vandepuye noted that the "August 30 by-elections" would be hotly contested as the Kingpins of the NDC would descend on the constituency that is arguably been described by political pundits as the hottest constituency in the country because of the complication of the political dynamics in the constituency.
